La città delle Ciliegie

Evento - Sagra della ciliegia e visita guidata dei borghi di Bagnaria e San Ponzo

Il Comune di Bagnaria, da anni legato all'Associazione Nazionale Città delle Ciliegie , ha nella cerasicoltura una tradizione che si protrae da secoli e che ha reso il nome del Comune famoso anche in ambito extraprovinciale.

La manifestazione prevede, oltre al consueto mercato di prodotti tipici locali, anche la preparazione e distribuzione di Risotto con le ciliegie, accompagnato da vino rosato dell'Oltrepò Pavese in collaborazione con alcune Aziende Agricole del territorio e la Pro Loco Bagnaria.Nella giornata della Sagra le strutture ricettive del Comune di Bagnaria avranno nel menu portate a base di ciliegie.

Con questa manifestazione il Comune di Bagnaria intende valorizzare il territorio, ponendo in primo piano le eccellenze agroalimentari che lo contraddistinguono: ciliegie , riso e vino, rappresentanti dei diversi ambiti che compongono la Provincia di Pavia, rispettivamente Valle Staffora, Oltrepò Pavese, Lomellina/Pavese. 

Pilgrim Madonna Oratory

The façade is characterized by a round  arch, which is partly walled and plastered while the rest is occupied by the rectangular portal in wood, divided into chiseled squares. Also on the façade, two single windows stretch into a round  arch with stone shelves. The roof is gabled. Right side: marked by four lancet windows that reflects the characteristics of those in front.  Leaning against the right side of the church is the sacristy. Left side: three other windows and the bell tower, also in stone. On the back of the church, the choir is visible, with three windows identical to previous ones.   The right side of the interior of the building has four pilasters at full-height.

 

Even the apse has two full-height pilasters. Between the third and the fourth pillar (one on the right and one on the left), there are two niches with round arch. Also on the right side, two steps give access to the sacristy; symmetrically on the left is the entrance to the tower. An altitude gap of three steps leads to the presbytery. The building dates back to 1946. The church is located at the foot of the road leading up to Livelli, in "Via Manzoni." Opposite the church, the school building in Ponte Crenna.

Colombaia

DESCRIZIONE
L’edificio è a quattro piani sovrapposti. Il piano inferiore, destinato a stalletta e ripostiglio, ha un ingresso indipendente sul lato ovest. La parte abitativa, il cui ingresso è sul lato sud, occupava i due successivi piani, mentre l’ultimo era destinato alla colombaia. Dall’ingresso appunto, si intravede una pavimentazione ad assi lignee ed entrando in tale spazio è possibile osservare direttamente l’intelaiatura del tetto. Sempre in facciata sud è stata realizzata successivamente un’ampia porta sopraelevata rispetto al livello del terreno, per utilizzare l’interno come fienile (eliminando così il solaio intermedio). Ingressi e finestre hanno forma rettangolare. Esternamente l’edificio presenta quali elementi decorativi sui quattro lati, un marcapiano in aggetto e l’imposta del tetto. Ogni lato inoltre presenta due monofore a raggera, tradizionali in questa tipologia. Nei due piani d’abitazione ciascun angolo è dotato di due feritoie per archibugio in corrispondenza dell’una e dell’altra facciata. Notevole anche la doppia feritoia a difesa della porta d’ingresso.

Church St. Anthony of Padua

Pronaos:  It is supported by two square pillars of brick and plaster (with a quadrangular pedestal), forming round arches. The ceiling of the porch is made of a beautiful vaulted ceiling plastered and painted. The roof of the porch is covered with three layers of bricks. Facade: entrance portal arch, framed by two pilasters. Above the entrance, two single crescent-shaped symmetric. The façade of the church is flanked by two full-height pilasters terminating at the top in two capitals which support the frame of the roof (pitched roof). To the right and left of the entrance, there are two small rectangular windows with a railing. Adjacent to the pilaster on the left, stands the bell tower with a four-story stone and brick.

The floors of the tower are marked on both sides by narrow rectangular slits.  On the interior you can access the presbytery by overcoming a step. The conjunction between the nave and chancel is emphasized by two pillars against the walls and adjacent to two niches raised and placed at 45° to the visitor.  From these pillars stems a round arch. On the right and left of the altar, are two small rectangular windows.  Also on the left side we find the entrance to the sacristy, which is prior to the 18th century. At the entrance there is the road that leads to the subsequent suburbs. The rest of the building is surrounded by a cultivated field.  

Cappella Madonna delle Grazie

DESCRIZIONE
Esterno. Portico: è sostenuto da due colonne; nel frontone è incastonata una targa in marmo bianco che riporta la seguente scritta: “1936 B.V. di Montelungo, pregate per noi”. Sul retro dell’edificio è stata realizzata una torretta che sostiene una campana di modeste dimensioni. Sopra la tettoia della torretta, vi è una croce in cemento. Anche la torretta risulta in cemento. Interno. L’interno dell’edificio presenta, sul lato di sinistra, una piccola finestra in vetro colorato.

Oratory of Our Lady of Caravaggio

Portico: has a balustrade of stone and plastered concrete that protects the entrance side and the right side.  It is supported by two pillars stone, square base and mortar recently restored, like the rest of the building. On top of the pillars rest the roof beams of three triangular flap.  The roof frame is made of wooden beams and joists. The floor of the porch is stone and mortar and has a trapezoidal shape.

Facade: it is characterized by the two slopes of the roof (gabled).  Leaning against the wall on the right is the vestry, and the front door is made of wood with two doors. Above the doorway is framed by concrete jambs and has a large wooden beam set among the stones.

To the left and right of the portal two small rectangular windows are protected by iron grating. The back of the building is used as a garden. The bell tower, made of brick and mortar, has a bell of modest size.

 

Interior: the access to the altar is through a step. The left wall has a rectangular window. It is believed that the building can be traced back to the tenth century. The building stands above the community, at the end of the paved road.

Oratory of Our Lady of the Snow

The porch is open on three sides by round arches. Is delineated on two sides (between the entrance and the pillars), by a low wall of stone and brick. The porch roof is covered with three-foot triangular tiles. The entrance to the oratory is rectangular, with a double wooden door and two slots in wrought iron. The portal is framed by concrete jambs. The roof of the nave is gabled. The oratory has both on the right side and on the left one, a square window protected by a railing. Even the apse has two equal windows.

 

Interior: You can access the apse overcoming a step. The building dates back to the eighteenth century. The oratory is situated at an altitude of 495 meters above on sea level, at the beginning of the town.  It is delineated on the right side of the road that leads to Livelli and is surrounded by cultivated fields.

Oratory S. Rocco

Porch: The porch is characterized by two slender columns topped by an abacus, which supports the architrave and pediment and has no decorations.  The roof is gabled and consists of wooden trusses and roof tiles.  The floor is concrete and the porch is bordered on the two sides (between the entrance and columns), by a low stone wall and brick walls.

Facade: the entrance is rectangular, with a wooden door with two doors. The apse, on the outside, does not have any opening. The oratory has two small rectangular windows (one per side).

Interior: The apse area is characterized by a small niche. This building dates back to the fifteenth century. The building is located at an altitude of 489 meters, from the hamlet, halfway between Livelli & Casa Massone.

 

It's surrounded by cultivated fields and can be reached by following a path used by agricultural vehicles.

Chiesa SS. Pietro e Paolo

DESCRIZIONE
Esterno. Facciata: si presenta con tetto a due spioventi (a capanna). L’ingresso, rettangolare con portale in legno ad unica anta, è inserito tra due lesene che lo superano di poco in altezza e terminano a punta. Sopra il portale vi è una monofora quadrilobata con leggera strombatura. Addossata alla parete di sinistra vi è la canonica, in pietra e malta intonacate, con tetto ad unico spiovente. Abside: è in pietra e malta senza intonaco e presenta una forma leggermente pentagonale, con due finestrelle rettangolari ed una monofora circolare. Tra l’abside ed il nucleo centrale si sviluppa il campanile, il cui basamento in pietra a vista, evidenzia ancora la struttura dell’antica torre campanaria. La parte superiore è stata intonacata nell’anno 1986. Interno. Le pareti laterali dell’edificio sono caratterizzate a destra e a sinistra da nicchie. Si accede alla zona absidale superando due scalini. Il coro è interessato da due aperture: la prima porta fa accedere al campanile ed alla sagrestia; la seconda ad un ambiente ristrutturato.
